Introduction

We were all sinners ,  but God loved us so much that He pays our moral debt through Jesus Christ. Romans 5:6-8 says; For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Salvation is absolutely free, it is the true gift of God in Christ, and our only responsibility is to receive the gift by faith (John 1:12; 3:16; Ephesians 2:8-9).  Receiving  it is by simply declaring and believing in our heart that Jesus Christ is Lord. In Romans 10:9-10 teaches us how to receive the wonderful gift of salvation. If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. But don’t you know that it has fruits? One of the fruits of salvation is the good works.

The general meaning of salvation is deliverance from danger or suffering. To save is to deliver or protect. The word carries the idea of victory, health, or preservation. But in the spiritual aspect,  the word “salvation” concerns an eternal and spiritual deliverance. You may ask, what are we saved from? In the Christian doctrine of salvation, we are saved from “wrath,” that is, from God’s judgment of sin (Romans 5:9; 1 Thessalonians 5:9). Our sin has separated us from God, and the consequence of sin is death (Romans 6:23). Biblical salvation refers to our deliverance from the consequence of sin and therefore involves the removal of sin.

In this course, the following lessons will be discussed:
